Employing a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach, data were collected through a questionnaire survey from 280 employees working in Jordanian telecom industries, and SmartPLs was used for data analysis. The results reveal substantial and meaningful associations between ethical leadership, POS, and OCB. Ethical leadership significantly and positively influences both POS and OCB, signifying that leaders who exemplify ethical conduct, fairness, and integrity contribute to employees' perceptions of organizational support and support their active engagement in citizenship behaviors. Moreover, the findings highlight a positive correlation between POS and OCB, indicating that when employees perceive robust organizational support, they are more inclined to extend their contributions beyond their job descriptions. LMX is shown to play a moderating role in the relationship between ethical leadership and OCB, as well as in the relationship between POS and OCB. These findings underscore the pivotal role that high-quality leader-member relationships play in amplifying the positive impacts of ethical leadership and POS on OCB. This research enriches understanding of ethical leadership, POS, and OCB within the Jordanian telecom sector. The implications of these findings are significant, providing valuable insights for organizations in this industry. These insights include developing and promoting ethical leadership practices, creating a supportive work environment, and strengthening leader-member relationships. The practical implications extend to leadership development programs, performance management systems, and reward structures that aim to encourage and reinforce OCB among employees.
2024-05-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Digitovation and information systemhttps://jdiis.de/index.php/jdiis/article/view/85Adapting Communication Technologies to Enhance Social Support and Lifelong Learning for Older Adults2024-10-15T16:18:45+00:00On Chee Hongwilson.onch@gmail.com
This qualitative study, employing thematic analysis, aimed to examine the role of communication technologies in delivering social support and promoting lifelong learning among older adults in Malaysia. Social support is crucial for older adults, particularly those dealing with loneliness, depression, or physical and mental health challenges. With the advancement and widespread use of communication technologies, these supports can be enhanced. However, while older adults require such technological support, they must acquire the necessary skills to use these technologies independently. Lifelong learning becomes essential for older adults to stay updated with evolving technological developments. This article explores the social support needs of older adults in relation to communication technologies. Data were collected through focus group discussions (FGD) and semi-structured interviews with fifteen experts in relevant fields. Thematic Content Analysis (TCA), informed by social capital theory, was used to analyze the data. The study identifies eight forms of social support provided by communication technologies: four from social media and four from digital tools. The findings offer insights into the factors that shape the use and effectiveness of communication technologies in delivering social support and further lifelong learning among older adults. The results have both theoretical and practical implications for designing interventions aimed at improving social support and lifelong learning for older adults through communication technologies in Malaysia.
2024-06-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Digitovation and information systemhttps://jdiis.de/index.php/jdiis/article/view/86Does Technostress Moderate Between Intention to Use ICT and Innovative Behavior: Exploring Antecedents of Digital Mindset 2024-10-15T16:20:17+00:00Madiha Hamidmadihah@ucp.edu.pk
This study aims to identify the factors influencing innovative behavior and digital mindset in Pakistani software houses while also examining the moderating role of technostress and the mediating role of the intention to use ICT. Data was collected longitudinally from 320 IT professionals employed in software houses in Pakistan, utilizing incremental and entity theories. A structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale was used to gather data, which was then analyzed using Smart-PLS to ensure accuracy and reliability. The findings reveal that a digital mindset, characterized by disruptive, generative, exponential, and combinational thinking, significantly impacts innovative behavior. Furthermore, the study shows a substantial mediating effect of the intention to use ICT on the relationship between digital mindset and innovative behavior. Additionally, perceived technostress is found to have a significant moderating impact on the intention to use ICT and innovative behavior. This research empirically develops and tests an integrated model of technostress, illustrating how a digital mindset can promote innovative behavior. The study’s conclusions offer valuable insights for future research on employee behavior and technostress.
2024-06-03T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Digitovation and information systemhttps://jdiis.de/index.php/jdiis/article/view/87Understanding the Role of Conversational AI for Organizations: A Qualitative Study2024-10-15T16:21:37+00:00Rashal Arfatrashal.arfat@devinci.fr
In today's digital landscape, managing customer service, customer satisfaction, and employee work-life balance poses significant challenges for organizations. Drawing on cross-sectional data from 349 employees in manufacturing firms in Bandung, Indonesia, this study provides empirical evidence of the positive influence of AI-enabled HR analytics on long-term employee performance. The research utilises JD-R theory to validate the mediating role of job crafting in this relationship. Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis, conducted using SMART PLS 3.0 software, was applied to test the model. The results demonstrate that AI-enabled HR analytics significantly impacts job crafting. Additionally, job crafting mediates the relationship between AI-enabled HR analytics and both sustainable performance and employee performance. Perceived risk moderates the relationship between job crafting and both performance outcomes. Similarly, employee engagement moderates the relationship between job crafting and both sustainable and employee performance. This study is among the first to empirically examine the use of AI-enabled HR analytics in the context of job crafting and its effects on sustainable and employee performance. It provides valuable insights for managers and business leaders seeking to leverage AI to enhance employee sustainability and performance in diverse organizational settings.
2024-06-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Digitovation and information systemhttps://jdiis.de/index.php/jdiis/article/view/91Organizational Readiness, Digital Technology, and Sustainable Performance: The Moderating Role of Knowledge Acquisition 2024-10-16T11:10:49+00:00Rudsada Kaewsaeng-onrudsada.k@psu.ac.th
This study examines the factors influencing organizational readiness and its impact on sustainable employee performance (economic, social, and environmental) in Thailand Telkom Service Sector.
